The tonal concept as well as the façade design still correspond entirely to the type of a Renaissance organ.

Gottfried Richter (1643 - 1717) from Döbeln/Saxony was an organ builder, mayor and town magistrate. The construction of the Pomßen organ by G. Richter is documented by the text of the surviving organ dedication sermon from Palm Sunday 1671. With a "short octave" and a mean-tone tuning, both the tonal concept and the façade design still correspond entirely to the type of a Renaissance organ. I/12. In 1727 the reed stop Cornetten 2' in the pedal was replaced by a Violenbaß 8'. During the reconstruction and restoration carried out between 2000 and 2006, the Violenbaß 8' was retained on a separate windchest. The 4 wedge bellows from 1696 in the tower behind the organ come from the Schlosskirche Zwickau-Planitz.
