Schmeisser organ in the Protestant church in Wermsdorf

The church received its first organ in 1715. It is said to have previously stood in the Paulinerkirche in Leipzig. It was a small work. In 1897, it was so worm-eaten that it had to be removed.

In 2001, the current organ was completely overhauled by Paul Schmeisser. Many wooden parts had to be replaced. At the same time, two stops were modified to improve the overall sound of the organ. All the pipes in the façade were rebuilt. The extensive work was carried out by the Bochmann company from Kohren-Sahlis. The organ has 14 different stops spread over two manuals and pedal. The largest pipe measures 2.50 meters and the smallest just a few millimetres.
