"Stasi intern" railing tour
Every Saturday, the museum in the "Runde Ecke" invites visitors to take a railing tour of the site of the former Leipzig Stasi headquarters. The tour offers exciting insights beyond the regular exhibition rooms and leads to authentic locations on the historic site. Among other things, the former Stasi cinema and the rooms where files were once destroyed are shown. The archaeological traces of over 1,000 years of building history on the site are also vividly conveyed.
Another focus is on the development of the Matthäikirchhof into a "Forum for Freedom and Civil Rights", which is accompanied by a debate on the preservation of the historic building complex.
The guided tour begins every Saturday at 4 pm in the entrance area of the memorial in the "Round Corner".
