Theaterpassage (Goethestraße / Ritterstraße)
The Theaterpassage was created as a shortcut to the former Neues Theater on Augustusplatz (today's opera house) and connects Goethestraße with Ritterstraße. The narrow passageway was integrated into the Krochhochhaus in 1927/1928, which was the first high-rise building to be built in Leipzig at the time.
Since then, the former bank building has formed the new eastern entrance to the passageway and, with its eleven storeys, is one of the many dominant features of Augustusplatz.
