Directions

This section of the Elbe Cycle Path begins in Riesa. The route continues to the medieval town of Strehla. To get to the small town, you have to cross the river by ferry. The route then follows the left bank of the Elbe towards Belgern. Over a more or less bumpy surface and side roads with little traffic, you reach Schirmenitz. This is where the Leipzig-Elbe cycle route meets the Elbe cycle path. The route now leads through the Roland town of Belgern towards Torgau. Belgern and Bennewitz are the two intersections of the Dahlener Heide Cycle Route and the Elbe Cycle Route. Cycle past Torgau in the direction of Dommitzsch or turn onto the Torgisch cycle path, which leads through the scenic Düben Heath to Delitzsch. The route continues via Dommitzsch in the direction of Elster and finally to Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

Route composition: 58% asphalt surface, 40% path or gravel path, 2% path
