With the fifth day's stage, the Mulde Cycle Path draws to a close. Following the river's course closely, we discover a series of cultural, historical, and scenic highlights. We leisurely cycle through the monastery meadows near Döbeln and marvel at the old Cistercian monastery of Buch and the picturesque Mildenstein Castle in Leisnig. At the end of the tour, the Freiberger Mulde and Zwickauer Mulde rivers meet and merge to form a mighty river. Podelwitz Castle is nearby, which also attracts many visitors with its magnificent and meticulously restored grounds.
The Freiberg Mulde Cycle Path ends at the confluence of the Mulde and Elbe. From here, it's up to you whether you want to follow the Zwickau Mulde to its source. If you want to discover the flora and fauna, towns, and villages along the "United Mulde," follow the route to Dessau. There, the Mulde flows into the Elbe.

Directions
The starting point for this stage is the roundabout in the center of the city. We drive north into Klosterstrasse and turn left into Staupitzstrasse. At the end of the roundabout we cross Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse and drive straight past the swimming pool parallel to the Mulde. Here we turn left and follow the course of the river for 1,5 kilometers. We first pass under a railway bridge, then drive left and continue under the B 175. Behind the car bridge we turn right and immediately left again behind the Mühlgraben. At the priority road we turn left again and straight on over the B 169. From now on we drive straight on, with the river on our left. After 3 kilometers in Technitz we continue straight on the priority road. After another 1,5 kilometers we pass under the railway tracks again at Bischofswiese and then immediately turn left again. In Westewitz we turn left at the T-junction over the tracks and immediately right again. We follow the course of the Scheergrundweg for 3,5 kilometers and turn left at the waterworks. After another 2,5 kilometers we can admire the former Cistercian monastery of Buch after we cross the railway underpass on the left again. We continue over the Freiberger Mulde to Paudritzsch, where we keep right at the fork in the road and then close to the river. In Leisnig we pass the train station, then keep right and cross the railway tracks again onto the street An Der Muldenwiese. We now come to the S 36, turn left here and then sharply right immediately after the railway bridge. We stick to the railway tracks and turn right 100 meters behind the church into Fabrikstraße over the tracks. We then cross the main road on the right, follow the path and take the subsequent turnoff to the right towards Altleisnig. In Altleisnig we cross the Mulde bridge and then immediately turn left through Wiesenthal and Marschwitz. At the end of Marschwitz we take the left turn along the Freiberger Mulde. We drive under a railway bridge again and stay close to the river on our left for 2,5 kilometers until we reach Tanndorf. On the other side of the river we see the Podelwitz moated castle. At the junction in Maaschwitz we turn left. After another 2,5 kilometers along the dyke path through Erlln we reach a T-junction. Here we turn left and in 100 meters we reach the confluence of the Freiberger and Zwickauer Mulde. At the T-junction we turn right and continue along the path along the Vereinigte Mulde.
