Apel's garden
"Apels Garten" is a traditional restaurant in the heart of Leipzig. In addition to Saxon cuisine based on historically handed-down recipes, guests are offered everything they need for a special Leipzig-style gourmet experience. The traditional dishes are also combined with international delicacies.
The name "Apel's Garden" is based on the former baroque garden of the same name. Around 1700, the merchant Andreas Dietrich Apel inherited the Bieringischer Garten, which had existed since 1629, and from then on expanded it himself. The fan-shaped park was located in today's inner Weststadt and existed until around 1800, after which the area was built on.
