At the Kleinert bakery, the doughs are still prepared by hand and, for example, hand-pressed bread rolls or mixed rye bread are made from natural sourdough.
The Kleinert bakery is a family business. Grandparents Margot and Werner started in 1950, Gisela and Jürgen took over in 1982 and Anja has been with the company for over 10 years. The small bakery in Leipzig-Lindenau is still baking today. Many of the journeyman bakers have been working here since their apprenticeship, some of them for up to 35 years.

Regional ingredients, such as the flours and many raw materials, are mainly sourced from small businesses in central Germany and Saxony. This ensures short transport routes and also supports people in small businesses in the region - a genuine regional product!

The Leipzig specialty - the lark - is baked with high-quality ingredients, e.g. with tender butter shortcrust pastry and the best Lübeck marzipan. The original is also available with chocolate shortcrust pastry, ground pistachio nuts, with coffee extracts or, in winter, with candied fruit and spices.

After you have tried the sweet pastries in the bakery, you can also try your hand at baking yourself, as Bäckerei Kleinert offers lark baking courses.
