Church of Our Lady Grimma

The Frauenkirche Grimma is an early Gothic three-nave pillar basilica. The Romanesque west tower (end of the 12th century) and the two striking towers characterize the image of the town. The church's most significant work of art is a late Gothic carved altar by the "Master of the Knauthain Altar", which tells the Christmas story.
The Frauenkirche Grimma is home to a Hermann Eule organ.

Hermann Eule (1846 - 1929) founded the organ building company in Bautzen in 1872, which is still successful today. In 1928, the Eule company completely rebuilt the 25-stop organ built in 1890 by Jehmlich, Dresden, for the Frauenkirche in Grimma. With pneumatic action and pocket chests, the organ is listed as Opus 167 in Eule's production directory. The organ builder understands pocket chests as a special pneumatic windchest system. In 2005, the swell was extended by the Oboe 8' stop from the Eule organ of the Maria and Marha Church in Bautzen, which is no longer preserved. II/30 The organ can be heard again and again in an impressive manner in church services and concerts.
