In the heart of Leipzig's city center, the Höfe am Brühl offers a colorful shopping world with over 100 stores on three levels. These include the latest fashion trends for women, men and children, exciting new technology, offers for athletes and adventurers as well as beauty highlights and professional cosmetic treatments. The diverse gastronomic offering has something for every taste with Asian, Italian, Turkish, American and German cuisine.
The Höfe am Brühl were built between 2010 and 2012 on the site of the former Konsument department store at Brühl. The architectural concept of the shopping center combines tradition and modernity by revisiting the history of well-known historical buildings that once stood at this location. The former Lattermanns Hof, the Drey-Schwanen-Hof and the Plauensche Hof can be found in the newly built shopping center. The Höfe am Brühl, with their characteristic and modern aluminum facade, are also a visual highlight in Leipzig's city center. The "tin can" facade is considered a Leipzig landmark and has been preserved, as has a 15-meter-long remnant of the sandstone facade from the Wilhelminian era.
Since 2018, the famous Goethe quote "I praise my Leipzig" has also been on the roof of the Höfe am Brühl, along with the city's coat of arms and the greetings "Welcome to Leipzig" in German, English, French and Russian. The neon signs date back to the GDR era. They are among the highlights of Leipzig's illuminated advertising systems and have shaped the face of the city center for decades. The well-known saying from Goethe's Faust "I praise my Leipzig" is used frequently today and is an expression of pride in the beautiful Saxon city.
