It is impossible to imagine German cities without allotment gardens as small, private recreational areas for their owners.
The allotment garden movement has an eventful history of over 200 years, which began in Leipzig and is documented in the exhibition in the German Allotment Garden Museum in a way that is unique worldwide. The permanent exhibition offers an overview of this interesting and exciting development and sheds light on the development of the allotment garden movement up to the present day, starting from the beginnings of the various lines of origin. In the listed garden complex, three show gardens illustrate the development of the small gardens. Guided tours for groups of 20 people or more are possible at any time by prior arrangement
