The circular tour with cross-connections begins at Oberholz station in Großpösna. The stop is on the Leipzig – Geithain – Chemnitz railway line (trains run every hour). The small station is under the care of the Association of Friends of the Großpösna Railway, which organizes exhibitions several times a year. On Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße you pass the “Büffeltränke” restaurant and after the playground turn right onto Langen Weg. Behind the railway tracks you come across a memorial stone which commemorates the handover of the forest by Duke Moritz of Saxony to the University of Leipzig in 1544. After the first information boards, turn right onto Saulöcherweg and walk to the shelter. Then you come to the Butterweg or Oelzschauer Weg on the right. At the second crossroads, the Sandgrubenweg turns off, which is a cross-connection of the nature trail. After a few meters you reach the forest action center, which invites you to take a short rest. Back on the Butterweg, which joins Störmthaler Weg on the right, there are signs dedicated specifically to the bird world. At the end of Störmthaler Weg, before the train tracks, on the left is the Botanical Garden. It is always worth a visit. Until a few years ago it was also run as a respected training institute for druggists and pharmacists. To round off the tour, a snack in the "Büffeltränke" is recommended.
