Once you have arrived in Leipzig in the evening and have recharged your batteries during your first night in the hotel and a delicious breakfast, you can head straight into the city center. Whether on foot or by train: depending on where your accommodation is located, you can reach the city center quickly and directly. Leipzig's streetcar network is extensive and will take you all over the city in just a few minutes: with your LEIPZIG CARD you can even travel for free during your 3-day stay!
 
Your first destination is the Tourist Information in Katharinenstraße. Here you will find your first and most important contact! In addition to city maps and souvenirs, you can get exciting insider tips and book experiences such as city tours or boat trips as well as purchase tickets for spectacular events.
 
We recommend a city tour to get an initial overview of Leipzig - the tour starts from the Tourist Information Office. While you walk through the city center and visit numerous sights such as the Old Town Hall, the Oper Leipzig and the glamorous passage system After an hour, another 90-minute bus ride will take you to the outer districts such as Plagwitz, Gohlis and Südvorstadt as well as past the famous Völkerschlachtdenkmal leads. During the tour, you can already start thinking about which of the numerous attractions you want to take a closer look at over the next few days.

After the tour, you'll be full of impressions and ready to satisfy your hunger! Fortunately, Leipzig offers a unique culinary diversity, with restaurants and inns on virtually every corner. You may have heard the term Auerbachs Keller during your first tour of Leipzig.  You don't have to walk far for this traditional restaurant: The restaurant is located just a few meters away in the cellar of the famous Mädler Passage, which you have already encountered during your city tour due to its glamorous and sumptuous interior design. While enjoying traditional Saxon cuisine, you will also learn a lot about the history of Leipzig's second oldest inn: Goethe used to stop off here during his student days in Leipzig and dedicated a whole scene to Auerbachs Keller in Faust, his most famous literary work. An exciting and definitely worthwhile visit!
 
With a full stomach, it's on to the next adventure: now it's time to immerse yourself in the Leipzig art and culture scene! By the way: Since January 1, 2024, admission to the permanent exhibitions of the museums in Leipzig has been free of charge. The GRASSI Museum should definitely be at the top of your list. The architecturally impressive Grassi building is divided into three unique museums: For lovers of applied art, ethnology and musical instruments there are numerous treasures and works of art to be discovered here. It's best to check out current exhibitions in advance to make your decision easier: You can easily spend several exciting hours in the museums.
 
So many different impressions can really wear you out. Tired but satisfied, you will want to enjoy a delicious dinner in a cozy atmosphere to round off the eventful day. The Beyerhaus in the south of Leipzig, which offers more than 500 seats and a large hall and vaulted ceiling as well as a pub lounge, is our recommendation. In addition to a wide variety of dishes, the Beyerhaus is known for one thing in particular: Craft beer! An extensive menu lets you choose between several alternatives. With a bit of luck, one of the numerous events such as poetry slams, theater or performances with live music that the Beyerhaus regularly hosts will take place in the evening. Enjoy the last few hours of your first day before heading back to the hotel and your well-earned bed.

Today it's time for you to hit the city center again! What's the best way to start an eventful day? That's right, a hearty meal consisting of breakfast and lunch. In short: brunch. This will take you to the Café Maître back on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. You can indulge in the flair of "Little Paris" while enjoying fine French specialties.

For the rest of the day, you can look forward to a balanced mix of nature experience and city feeling. So how about a boat tour on the Karl-Heine-Kanal and the White Elster? Thanks to your LEIPZIG CARD, you will also receive a discount here and take the next train towards the Leipzig city harbor. As this is your last day in Leipzig, it's time to hunt for souvenirs and takeaways. In addition to the many souvenirs that you can buy at the tourist information office, you will find other Leipzig delicacies in the city center that will bring the charm of the city home to you. In numerous cafés such as Café Kandler you can purchase Leipziger Lerche for example, the taste of which you could already convince yourself of on the second day of your stay. The Leipziger Gose bottled beer is also a welcome souvenir that you can buy at Bayerischer Bahnhof among other places. Take a stroll through the city center - you might even come across your very own souvenir from our city among all the stores.
 
For your last evening, a visit to the Oper Leipzig is on the agenda.
