Outdoor seating and beer gardens in Leipzig - cheers!

The pulse of Leipzig's city center beats on the "Drallewatsch". The popular pub mile was founded by two dozen landlords in the mid-nineties. Going out here is a must if you want to get to know the Leipzig outdoor culture. The area stretches from Richard-Wagner-Platz to Burgplatz with a particularly lively Barfußgässchen. The high density and variety of restaurants, which are all equipped with "footpath tables", give the city center a unique flair. On warm evenings, you can stroll along the Drallewatsch and enjoy a celebratory beer. The HUWA, Barfusz and Spizz.

Trains used to rush through the Bayerischer Bahnhof. Today, the beer flows freely there. In the oldest preserved terminus station in the world, the pub of the same name with its own brewery opened in 2000. Here you can try the beer specialty Original Leipziger Gose. On warm days, the refreshingly sour drink is particularly popular in the beer garden. Enjoy Saxon and Bavarian dishes to go with it. Situated between the former ticket hall and the civil servants' residence and shaded by old plane trees, this beer garden has a charm all of its own.

True to the motto "Colorful, colorful, Karli", one pub with outdoor seating follows the next on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. In the bright glow of the neon signs of the Löffelfamilie, you can enjoy a drink in a relaxed atmosphere on comfortable folding chairs. The choice of pubs and bars to sit outside is huge: Mexican at Acapulco, retro with GDR charm at Gaststätte Kollektiv or with an integrated cinema in the naTo - there is something for every taste. The people of Leipzig are always inventing new outdoor seating on the Karli: armed with a beer, you can also settle down on the kerb or a window sill and spend the evening in good company playing "Cornern". Our tip: This is particularly good at Südplatz.

In the south of Leipzig, the Ilse is on the move! Because when you visit the Dance Café Ilse's Erika, all beer gardeners will also get their money's worth. Ilse has hidden her beer garden in the garden of the "House of Democracy". There is always something going on here, whether at open-air concerts on the summer stage, the big beer garden quiz with the almost legendary beer and schnapps slats or the popular flea market. In addition to food from the kitchen and grill, you can also get the cheapest beer  of the aforementioned beer gardens - the house beer "Thüringer Waldbräu" is available for just a small thaler. 

Against the backdrop of the Lake Cospuden with its harbor and lakeside terraces lies the beer garden at Pier 1. Situated on the Gosewanderweg, you can enjoy freshly tapped beer and delicious Döllnitzer Ritterguts-Gose on tap. Traditionally, you drink this with Leipziger Allasch. The drink is accompanied by excellent smoked trout, for example. There are also beer garden concerts from swing to classical music in a maritime atmosphere.

On the edge of the spa town of Bad Düben lies the HEIDE SPA. Here you will find a place of peace and relaxation, not far from Leipzig. The on-site beer garden is a wonderful place to relax. In the summer months, barbecue evenings are held here every first Friday, where you can fill up on a varied buffet.
