Camping in Leipzig: Out and about in the region with a tent and camper van
Motorhome parking space at WelWel in Döbeln
Are you a real bike freak and want to explore the Mulderadweg? You'll find the perfect starting point with a parking space in Döbeln. A total of three caravan sites await you on the grounds of the Sport and Leisure Center "WelcomeWellness" (WelWel). The campsites were set up in 2013 and are located not far from the Freiberger Mulde. You can park your vehicles there on gravel or grass. You can also use water and electricity for a small flat rate. There is also a restaurant, a bowling alley and a mini golf course at WelWel.
The lively Döbeln city center is around 1.3 kilometers away. There you have access to the Mulde cycle path and can cycle to Leisnig or Grimma, for example. The regional train is a good option for the return journey. Döbeln itself is a lovely small town with a wide range of cultural and leisure activities. The Original Döbelner Riesenstiefel and the Stadtmuseum are housed in the town hall. Every first Saturday of the month, you can take the historic horse-drawn tram and be chauffeured through the town center at a leisurely pace. The proudest witness to the past is the venerable Church of St. Nicolai. The late Gothic carved altar and the Miracle Man are particularly worth seeing here.

Kriebstein dam campsite
Do you want to camp in a tent or camper van in the Leipzig region and enjoy pure peace and nature - but also be active at the same time? Then the Kriebstein Dam is just the place for you. The perfect starting point for exploring the recreational area is the idyllic forest campsite in Kriebstein. There are 50 tourist pitches available there. The camping site is terraced and equipped with sanitary facilities. It is also just 200 meters from the shore of the dam.
There is plenty to experience: In no time at all, you can reach the Seebühne, which is used by the Mittelsächsisches Theater, among others. The dam wall and Kriebstein harbor are also just a stone's throw away. The passenger boat allows you to discover the natural shore areas and alluvial forests from the water. There is also a boat rental service on site, so you can paddle or row across the dam. Various long hiking routes along the popular fishing water offer breathtaking views.
For those of you interested in culture, we also recommend a visit to the Kriebstein Castle. It is enthroned on a high rock massif above the Zschopau and is considered the most beautiful knight's castle in Saxony.

Camping ground Seebad Neumühle in Schildau
In Schildau, you can follow in the footsteps of the famous Schildbürger! The Schildbürgerwanderweg tells the story of the Schildbürger on twelve boards at historical locations. They deliberately played dumb so as not to have to enter the service of others due to their renowned intelligence. The only Museum der Schildbürger in Germany displays, among other things, an extensive collection of Schildbürger books and a model of the legendary triangular town hall without windows. From the 26-metre-high Schildberg tower, you have a beautiful view over the Dahlener Heide. You can also reach the Elbe cycle path in nearby Torgau.
After an eventful day, it's best to set up camp at the camping site near Schildau. The campsite is adjacent to the Neumühle lakeside resort and has a spacious open area. In addition to permanent campers, short-term campers are also very welcome. The modern sanitary building also offers all the amenities for a carefree stay. Cool off in the adventure pool or take a dip in the cool waters of the natural pool. Last but not least, a small restaurant with a view of the lake takes care of your physical well-being.

Camping and caravanning in the O-Schatz Park
Camping with the kids? Then the camping and caravanning site in Oschatz is a special tip for you. The site is located on the grounds of the European Youth Camp, right next to O-Schatz-Park - an admission-free family, animal and leisure park. It was created for the 4th Saxon State Garden Show in 2006 and offers the perfect place for varied and relaxing days in the middle of Oschatz - yet surrounded by greenery. Several supply stations with electricity, water and sewage connections as well as a sanitary building are available here. The barbecue area with seating and a large lounge with board games invite you to linger.
After a 5-minute walk, you will find yourself in the middle of the town center. There you can stroll, store or eat ice cream. Our special tip: Take a look at the St. Aegidien Church with its historic tower dwelling. After climbing 199 steps, you will be rewarded with a fascinating view and a bowl of "Heeßen". For pure relaxation, head to the "Platsch" leisure pool with an attractive sauna area. The campsite is also an ideal starting point forRad- and Hiking tours to the Dahlener Heide and the Wermsdorfer Wald. A trip on the Döllnitzbahn "Wilder Robert" is also worthwhile.
