The municipality of Belgershain is located on the southwestern edge of the Muldental district and borders directly on the Leipzig Land district. One highlight is the picturesque Rohrbach ponds. Surrounded by gentle hills, dense forests, and wide meadows, they offer ideal conditions for varied relaxation in nature.

Right in the heart of Leipzig New Lakeland, the modern and charming small town of Böhlen, located south of Leipzig between Lake Markkleeberg, Lake Störmthal, Lake Hain and Lake Zwenkau, is an ideal destination for a day trip.

There is plenty to discover in the large district town of Borna, with its rich history. This includes Kunigunde Church and Volksplatz, the region’s largest open-air stage. The Reichstor, the last remaining of the original four town gates, stands on Reichsstraße and today houses the town museum.

Borsdorf is located on the Green Ring Leipzig, a cycling route around Leipzig, making it very easy to explore by bike from the neighbouring city. The local history museum here houses thousands of contemporary testimonies to the town’s own history. Schwanenteichpark, with an area of 1.5 hectares, invites visitors to stroll, linger, play and enjoy sports. Every year in June, the people of Borsdorf celebrate the “Inselfest” in Schwanenteichpark.

The town of Brandis lies between Leipzig, Wurzen and Grimma, nestled in a beautiful landscape in the heart of the Mulde Valley. Its districts can be explored on regional cycling routes. They lead through the stunning scenery, past quarries, the climbing forest, Brandis Town Church, over the Kohlenberg or to Beucha, the “Village of Stones”, with its hilltop church visible from afar.

The town of Delitzsch north of Leipzig impresses visitors with monuments such as the Baroque palace and the medieval fortifications, the town clerk’s house and the Cooperative Museum. The large town park, the well-kept animal park and the rose garden at Moorbad are also well worth seeing.

Elstertrebnitz is a small municipality in Saxony with a history dating back to 1093. Expansive floodplain landscapes along the White Elster invite you to enjoy walks and bike rides.

Thanks to the international Frohburg ADAC Dreieckrennen, which has been held for over 60 years, Frohburg is often referred to as a racing town. It is also well worth visiting sights such as Frohburg Castle with its museum, the Schwind Pavilion, the impressive Gnandstein Castle, or Prießnitz Manor and Castle.

Right in the heart of things, between Kohrener Land and the Rochlitz Mulde Valley, lies the small town of Geithain. With its convenient location, Geithain offers the ideal starting point both for excursions and for leisurely exploring.

Set amid a beautiful floodplain landscape, Groitzsch looks back on almost 1,000 years of history. With Wiprechtsburg Castle, the town has a place steeped in history and culture, whose open-air stage integrated into the castle ruins attracts many visitors, especially in the summer months.

Großpösna and its districts have now become attractions for recreation and culture. Lake Störmthal, for example, offers numerous leisure opportunities such as the floating art project VINETA, the Mining Technology Park and the cycle route network.

The municipality of Löbnitz is located in a scenic setting. At the beginning of the Düben Heath, the village is framed by the Mulde floodplain and Lake Seelhausen. Here, you can explore nature on the designated circular trails around Lake Großer Goitzschesee and Lake Seelhausen, as well as on the Mulde Cycle Path.

Lützen - in the town center, the magnificent town hall, with its impressive architecture and the statue of Gustav II Adolf, invites visitors to marvel and is considered the heart of the core town with its eleven districts. In this unified municipality, visitors discover a special atmosphere of tradition, history and culture.

As close to the city as possible, yet surrounded by greenery? If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place. Markkleeberg offers both peace and relaxation as well as numerous leisure opportunities for active pursuits, whether by bike on a well-developed network of paths, in a rubber dinghy through the rapids of the Canoe Park, or simply lying in the sun on the sandy beach.

Schladitz Bay on Lake Schladitz offers plenty of variety for people from near and far seeking relaxation and exercise. Rötha, located on the old trade route from Altenburg to Leipzig, was first mentioned in official records in 1127. Today, the town is best known for its two churches with the organs by master organ builder Gottfried Silbermann, which remain world-famous to this day.

Nestled between floodplain forest and the river courses of the White Elster and Luppe, Leipzig/Halle Airport and Lake Schladitz lies the small town of Schkeuditz. Numerous well-developed, nature-oriented bike paths cross the town and its districts, inviting you to stop and linger.
